Red Apple Markets – Lobster Drop:
Red Apple Markets asked that we create a look for their periodic Lobster Drop event to be used predominately in their print ad. Using illustrated parachuting lobsters created a sense of urgency (and fun) for the events. Other print and collateral were created for select stores including ROPs, posters, danglers and ADVO inserts. Kobalt also created similar illustrations to support other seafood events.

Hood Canal IGA – Grand Opening:
The first of several IGA Market Fresh stores to open, Kobalt was faced with the challenge of creating a template that each grand opening could adapt to their product selection and events. A custom logo identity was created to serve as a headline for the print materials. Banners, theatre signs, postcards, ROPs and other various collateral were tailored to support each separate opening.

Metropolitan Market – Postcard Series:
This series of six direct mail postcards were developed to complement the same creative direction as their grand opening—incorporating the brand color palette for each different week. The use of iconic food graphics created a clean, balanced look that featured a larger “free” center item. The featured item for each is unique to Metropolitan Market stores, and were art directed and shot in Kobalt’s in-house photo studio.

This 56-page awareness publication educated the city’s residents on its future growth goals. As the developmental process of the Portland Plan spans five years, for this early stage (year two) the creative needed to feel like a work-in-progress. Solution: a crafty, scrapbook journal.

Grocery Circulars:
For many years now, Kobalt has provided exceptional support for Unified Grocers and their member retailers. Standard, tabloid, ribbi, dink, spadia, pop-out and overwrap are just some of the formats we develop designs for on a regular basis. As important as making each ad look visually engaging and read well, paramount attention is required for all of its inherent details. Our team thrives in the details—and publications such as these demands that we do. Thousands of details, accurately accounted for, each and every week, with strategic creative to boot.
